Chris Tubbs

There is something very still about the work of photographer Chris Tubbs. Like time has stopped between the lub and the dub of a heart beat. Poised, considered, centred, quiet. A gentle celebration of beauty and the beautiful life. Like the man captured in time, cantilevered over a stream, suspended forever in a canopy of green. A wonderful way to spend eternity.

One of our favourite sites for inspiration is Freunde von Freunden. People, photography, video…. beautiful! Have you seen their latest piece on Uli Mayer-Johanssen, head of Berlin branding agency MetaDesign? Swoon. Freunde von Freunden kindly sent us a few images to share. An amazing home, an amazing woman. More pictures (by Philipp Langenheim for Freunde von Freunden) and an inspiring interview here.

Stalking more brick walls

There is a tease, a peek at what lies behind the old brick walls. Modern metal lines cut across the void left between old buildings hinting at the warehouse conversion inside. The drama all happens at the back where the upper level living areas open wide to the sky and neighbouring industrial brick walls. Inner city living in the past and into the future in Fitzroy, Melbourne. Link here while it lasts.

IF Architecture

Considered, pared back, eclectic contemporary. IF Architecture takes a holistic approach to their designs with an emphasis on the marriage of exteriors and interiors, architecture and interior design. Their houses tell a simple story of good design, good use and a good looks. But it’s not all clean contemporary lines and a minimalist aesthetic. Their commercial work reveals their showman side. Statement spaces that speak of drama and style.

I so want this space as my studio/work room/office. Fine old architectural bones. Tick. Great big window. Tick. Loads of shelving, cool furniture, Achille Castiglioni Taraxacum light (my all time favourite)and a boucherouite rug. Sigh. See more of this amazing house by Undercover Architects here.
