Say it’s the light streaming in. Say it’s the soft shadow across the floor, the stark chiaroscuro. Say it’s the composition and the well considered angle, the crop, the framing. Say it’s an understanding of architecture and how people interact in a space. Say it’s an artist’s eye. Whatever you say I say Derek Swalwell is my new photographer crush. An extensive and inspiring portfolio.
I love stalking. I love it when other people stalk too. I also love showing how people in my part of the world live. Double win today then. Gem from Brisbane sent me a link to this post-war weatherboard and tile home. This type of house is a common sight in my neck of the woods. Built in the 50s and 60s they dot the streets around me and are often the first home choice of many young couples (or were before the housing market went stratospheric here). Today’s home is in a very good suburb surrounded by lovely homes and just a stone’s throw from the university which is real estate speak for big price tag for little home. Very nice little home though. Plenty of cute ideas for those just starting out. Link here while it lasts.
P.S. You must visit Gem’s blog Bella Vizsla if you want to see the most photogenic pooch around!
We just wanted to say thanks for all your support. Kim and I love putting the blog together but it is made even more special by knowing we have the best readers around. We love you guys! These flowers are for you to say thanks… and to also apologise for no posts this weekend. We are taking the weekend off. “YAY!” I say but I know you will be saying “BOO”. Kim is drowning in French studies and I’m still getting over my recent health hiccup so I just know you will forgive us for taking 2 days off. We have hardly ever taken time off in the more than four years we have been blogging so we are going to be bad this weekend and play hooky. Don’t worry though we’ll be back Monday and of course the Easter weekend will be overflowing with easter eggs and Desire to Inspire reading guides, a holiday tradition!
P.S. These gorgeous flowers are actually sitting on my breakfast table. I am such a lucky girl. Thanks Lexi!
I promise this is my last beach stalking for the week. Today’s beach home is not quite what you would expect from a seaside residence. It’s darker, moodier and more masculine but it is still relaxed and focuses on bringing the outside in. It reflects its position further back from the sea in a canal estate. It’s more urban resort than seaside chic and oh so cool. Love the garden ideas in this one. Link here while it lasts.
