Like an arrow to the heart

Like an arrow from Cupid’s bow it’s a case of love at first sight for this Berlin apartment. Thoroughly modern but with just a hint of Art Deco. I do believe I have a new kitchen crush. Glogauer Apartment by New York based White Arrow.

Earthy modern

This is an apartment I can get behind, and move into immediately. Clean lines, earth tones with hits of mustard yellow (I loooooove yellow), deep ochre(?) and salmon. Lots of comfy places to sit surrounded by pale woods and chalky walls. Appealing to the masses. By interior design duo Espejo & Goyanes. (Jo featured them back in February).

A bohemian romantic apartment in Lisbon

Letícia of Lisbon-based Roof Design Studio (interior design, architecture and renovations, product design and graphic design) sent over photos of a beautiful apartment in a duplex in Lisbon that overlooks the Tagus river. In a perfect balance between neutral colors and the explosion of colours, between modern and clean design and pieces full of travel memories, between collector art and emerging illustration, walls have been torn down to create wider spaces and doors were eliminated to create greater visual connections. In these residential 170m2 you can find portuguese brands such as Mambo Unlimited Ideas, Dooq details, Theia tiles, Utu Lamps and many furniture pieces designed by the creative team of studio Roof, meticulously manufactured by the best national artisans. Sophistication and functionality were the keywords of the project, where each chosen material, each combination of colours and patterns and each perspective reflect the owner’s taste and personality.

As soon as I came across a feature on Russian designer Boris Dmitriev‘s office/apartment in Architectural Digest Russia I laughed because it is such a bold contrast to the office Jo featured yesterday. Located in a building built in 1905 in Moscow, this 84 m² space is so unique. Boris does not shy away from colour or pattern! I know this isn’t for everyone, but his attention to detail and the way he pulls it all together with such cohesion is extraordinary.

A treasure trove of an apartment

The drama continues thanks to the creative folks of PROjECT and this fantastic small apartment with a distinctive global feel. This is our girl Aimee’s Ukrainian village respite. A 650-square-foot studio filled with treasures from amazing places with all the divine sensations — Tanzania, Nicaragua, Peru, Mexico, Bali, India — it’s the ultimate nod to her nomadic flow, and the living room where PROjECT was born. Our resident hunter + gather pairs a tribal vibe with her signature rip-tear-shred aesthetic; literally, ripped drapes + shredded pillows, and a few space-saving hacks. The bedroom was transformed into a walk-in closet and the sofa doubles as a headboard from the backside. It’s an all-white space enveloped in a cloud of copal incense, where there’s a memory, story or person behind each treasure.
