The edgy loft of a music lover

Posted on Thu, 5 Dec 2019 by KiM

This loft in Livorno, Italy is where art, music, plants and custom furniture come together to create an edgy, unique home. Also, I’m really digging how the hardwood floor was laid. Very cool! Designed by MODO architettura + design.

A Manhattan pied-à-terre

Posted on Thu, 5 Dec 2019 by KiM

I am smitten with this Manhattan pied-à-terre that may be small in size but is loaded with sophistication. Designed by Kyle O’Donnell of Gramercy DesignA small penthouse apartment in a boutique cooperate was found in derelict condition, re-imagined as an elegant, bright, and functional space. We painstakingly replicated mouldings and period architecture in a strong restoration effort. The furnishings are intentionally sculptural and sparse with layered, iconic vintage and modern pieces. Chalky white walls and brass accents brighten the entertaining spaces while sleeping areas are calm and tonal. The terrace was landscaped by Jeffrey Erb Landscape Design, with the intention to feel like an extension of the living room.

Take a moment to stop and drink in the stylish harmony achieved in this 60m² Haussmanian apartment by Constance Oulès. “In all of her projects, she seeks to combine the functional and the aesthetic, the rigor of the lines and the warmth of the materials, the purity and the character, the masculine and feminine, simplicity and sophistication.” A beautiful balance indeed!

A colourful modern apartment in Moscow

Posted on Fri, 29 Nov 2019 by KiM

Ilya Guliants and Katya Alagich of Moscow-based design firm el Born studio created an exuberant and somewhat whimsical space for a young couple with 2 children. The kitchen/dining floor tile is gorgeous and with the dark teal cabinetry is such a eye-catching combination. Loving the graphic paint treatment on the living room wall, the unique dining room pendant and the bold wallpaper in the bedroom. Lots of fun all around!

It’s chic. It’s elegant. It’s oh so French. AND it has a view to die for! Believe it or not this Champ de Mars apartment is a “pied à terre” for a Swiss couple who only occasioinally live in Paris. Sigh. By Gaspard Ronjat in collaboration with Valerie Pasquiou.
