It’s how you feel in a space that is important to Sydney-based interior architecture practice Richards Stanisch. and in that case I’d feel fabulous in this moody Darlinghurst house. I love the play of the white against the navy, how the rich cognac leather grounds and warms, how “the new design is a subtle evolution/development of the building’s original character without sacrificing the classic charming elements.”
I love the idea of a second home/cottage/pied-à-terre – a home you can be brave with and do all the things you wouldn’t dare do in your primary residence. The owners of this pied-à-terre live in London and needed a space in the heart of Paris. Maéma Architectes took what is a beautiful 130 sq m structure, did a bit of re-working and added alot of charm and creativity in a Jonathan-Adler-esque style that is a bit quirky, colourful and fun.

I found several little gems among other projects by the talented Virginie and Nathalie Droulers so here are some extras for your viewing pleasure. (I’m completely smitten with the bedroom below)
My love affair with monochromatic interiors continues in 2019 and this modern, boho house by Indianapolis-based design firm and lifestyle boutique Haus Love Interiors is just what I crave. Right on trend with their tight colour palette of neutrals beefed up with texture and natural materials, the home epitomises easy living elegance.
