An 18th-century New York farmhouse

“ERA’s interventions carefully preserved and highlighted original and historic features including the 200 year old wood beams in the dining room and a sleeping porch turned shower room, while contrasting the historic with modern finishes, furnishings and amenities. The house is now filled with warm colors, rich wood floors and has been transformed into a comfortable and unique family estate.”

An 18th-century New York farmhouse that was tactfully restored with care and consideration by Elizabeth Roberts Architects. May I just say that the sleeping porch to bathroom conversation is stunning? Country perfection.

“Our Coopers Shoot project near Byron Bay was wish fulfilment made real for a young family of four. Our brief was to create spaces that would suit a busy family lifestyle but embrace relaxation, that would work both functionally and beautifully, and that would enhance reflection and embrace entertaining.”

Stylish, open plan living with doors flung open to a verdant landscape in one of Australia’s most beautiful coastal hinterland spots. It’s about connection to place and connections to people. Coopers Shoot by Louise Walsh.

The clients had a growing art collection. The interior designer had the cool ideas. The result is a liveable, character-filled home celebrating the lives and lifestyles of the owners. Art House by Melbourne-based Chelsea Hing.

P.S. Does anyone else want to lick those pink marshmallow walls?

A vintage modern kitchen

I have been dreaming a lot lately about how I can redo my very small kitchen and this recent project by Ottawa design firm Wiseman + Cromwell is perfect inspiration. I love the chic Parisian vibe of this space and the wood, black, white and brass is so classic and timeless. Absolutely gorgeous. I’m taking notes! (Check out another of Liane’s projects here)

Haussmannian twist

Paris based interior designer Pauline Lorenzi Boisrond of Studio Ett Hem is an alchemist. She combines functionality and aesthetics and the result is magic. This is a Haussmannian apartment but it’s Haussmannian with a twist. The original spaces take on an almost Art Deco feel but the hero of the design is the custom joinery. Exquisite.
