I want

Posted on Thu, 23 Feb 2017 by midcenturyjo

I’m like a spoilt child. If I see something I like then I want what I see. Please mummy can I have a beach hut right on the beach? Just meters from the water? Pleeeeeeaaaase. Except I’d want sand not shingle but you can’t have it all. Beach House by Studiomama.

A white beach house

Posted on Wed, 22 Feb 2017 by midcenturyjo

We have featured many beach houses here on the blog over the years, and many of them take the nautical theme a tad too far. But not this one! I absolutely adore this Florida home. With different shades of white/off-white and not a speck of blue in sight, this is elegant yet earthy and minimalist. No fuss decor with lots of natural fabrics make this so effortless and soothing. I love that aside from a couple of throw blankets there are no patterns, making this so easy on the eye. By Tennessee-based interior designer Rozanne Jackson.

Cabanon

A wee, white shed by the sea in the Èze region of France. It may be small in size but it’s big on style. Piano on the deck anyone? Cabanon by Monaco-based architectural duo Humbert & Poyet.

Brazilian beachside boho chic

Posted on Mon, 23 Jan 2017 by KiM

The fishing village of Trancoso on Brazil’s Costa del Descubrimiento may have started as a hippie hideaway but it’s now the super trendy vacation spot. As many of our Northern Hemisphere readers have been trapped in the freezing gloom of winter I thought I’d take us all on a virtual getaway to the boho chic vacation home, Casa Tiba. I can feel the warm breeze as I lie by the pool and know that the cool, stylish interiors are only a few steps away.

Sunshine on the water

Another stunning home from the Luxe Houses stable. Stylish, light filled rooms overlooking the Pittwater at Palm Beach. (I recognise this beautiful home as the work of interior designer Justine Hugh-Jones.) Dream holidays are made of this. Friends, family, fabulous house and sunshine sparkling on the water.
