View? What view? I’m too busy drinking in the house. Beachview by Brown Design Group.

Billy Cotton

Billy Cotton‘s spaces are uniquely curated with beautiful textures and patterns, an air of elegance and a European flair. He may be based in Brooklyn but his style is far from it. I am completely mesmerized by the room above, and could spend many a lazy summer afternoon there. Note the side table detail. 😉

Winter in the subtropics

Posted on Thu, 9 Jun 2016 by midcenturyjo

I really can’t complain. Winter comes and goes here with only some minor bickering on my part. Days rarely drop to zero degrees and climb into the 20s with monotonous regularity. And I can’t think of a better place to spend my winter days than at a beachside getaway just a couple of hours north of where I live. Welcome to 180 Degrees Noosa. I’m packing a summer wardrobe… and maybe just a jumper or two.

Waterfront – Olivia O’Bryan

Sisters Ashley ‘Olivia’ Waddell and Courtney ‘O’Bryan’ Whatley of Florida based interior design firm Olivia O’Bryan took a stunning waterfront property and transformed it into an elegant, yet somewhat casual home that I sincerely hope the owners use as their main residence. The mostly white walls and light concrete floors make every room so bright – I bet sunny days makes this even more special in person. Now if you will excuse me a margarita and that pool are beckoning….

Beachy pink

Posted on Mon, 29 Feb 2016 by midcenturyjo

Think beach house think white painted walls and accents of blue and sea green. Perhaps that should be pink or melon or citrus green. This modern family holiday home takes a fresh look at the beach theme with its hot fruit flavoured colour hits. Light, bright and stylishly relaxed. Just what you want for your vacation retreat by the sea. Cabana com Arte in Comporta, Portugal by Lisbon-based architectural and interior design studio Sa Aranha & Vasconcelos.
