Certainly no beach shack this Hamptons weekender for a young city couple is part mid century, part transitional, a little whimsical and always with a subtle sophistication. I never understand why people actually leave these “weekenders” to return to the work-a-day rat race. I’d be investigating work from home options. A weekend retreat in a calming colour palette of silvery greys and off whites, an inviting combination of custom and vintage furniture pieces and an emphasis on patina and polish. It all adds up to a delightful country house in Connecticut in a style that the interior designers Dumais call “airy rustic glamour”. I call it simply lovely.
