Beach beauty

Posted on Thu, 7 May 2015 by midcenturyjo

A soft palette of sand and stone, washed out pastels and white, beautiful white. Clean lines and bespoke cabinetry. Whitewashed brick, blonde timbers, ethnic touches and a relaxed elegance. Beach side living at its stylish best. Avoca Beach house by one of my favourite interior designers Karen Akers. Pinch me. It’s a dream.

P.S. So you think this place couldn’t be more perfect? Well it can. You can rent it for holidays! You can email for more information here.

Modern deco

Love the dark grey wall with the marble shelf. Love the penny rounds in the bathroom. Love the waterfall edge to the stone bench in the kitchen. Love the clean contemporary lines of this apartment renovation in Bellevue Hill, Sydney by TomMarkHenry. A modern, minimal interpretation to play off the art deco lines of the original apartment.

Exquisite escape

I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a four day Easter break than exploring the über fabulous city of Sydney especially if the base for my foray was this apartment at XXV Challis. From the exquisite interiors by Pamela Makin to its perfect position in Potts Point I’d be tempted not to stray too far. Actually I think I’d never want to leave. From the amazing stable of prestige properties at Contemporary Hotels.

Carmel Valley dreaming

Posted on Wed, 11 Mar 2015 by midcenturyjo

Pinch me! I’m dreaming. Dreaming of staying in this beautiful suite at the Carmel Valley Ranch designed by Nicole Hollis. A modern interpretation of ranch style, plush and textured. Curled up by the fire or soaking in the tub? Hmmmm. Tough decision. I can’t believe I made it all the way to Wednesday before planning my virtual escape.

In bed with Bek Sheppard

Melbourne based interior and props stylist Bek Sheppard sure knows how to make a bed… or a moody bedroom for that matter. Love the layers and her sense of colour.
