An interplay of colour and light

Posted on Tue, 4 Oct 2022 by midcenturyjo

“Cloudy blue and terracotta tones immerse the home’s front heritage rooms, lending a feeling of intimacy and seclusion. To the rear, an elegant kitchen sleeves into the dining space, finished with shiplap cladding and leather banquette seats, with framed views to the garden. Pale celadon, eggshell and taupe tones forge an understated yet sophisticated palette, enlivened by bursts of geometric tiling in the entry and rolling cloud wallpaper in the powder room; a reflection of the family’s light-hearted disposition.”

Colour and light play together in this reworking of an Edwardian home in inner Melbourne weaving their magic to create a stylish, liveable family home. Park House by Melbourne-based interior designer Georgina Jeffries.

Living in the 70s

“Located within an early Merchant Builders development, think earthy textures, 70s sensibility and a magical green oasis.”

This sympathetic reworking of a classic Aussie 70s house by Melbourne-based Studio Wonder is modern yet retro, full of colour and texture. Love the original wooden raked ceiling, the polished concrete floors and the standout art.

Sophisticated living on Long Island

Posted on Mon, 26 Sep 2022 by midcenturyjo

Things are not always as they seem. A classic white-clad Hamptons exterior and inside a sophisticated urban home. Just like the two halves of interior desiner Timothy Godbold. Aussie born now Long Island-based with not only the creator of high-end design but also an author of military style in fashion. It seems that opposites attract and it results in eye-catching liveable luxury.
