It’s all about colour and pattern and just a touch of maximalism (can one have a “touch” of maximalism?) in this fun mid-century family home in Atlanta, Georgia by Jessica Davis of Atelier Davis. No detail has been overlooked but of course, it’s the designer’s own home. Casually chic, fresh and fabulous.

Better make that red, white and blue AND green. Old meets new in this shingle-clad home in Bellport, Long Island by Michael Vincent Design. The perfect holiday bolthole mindful of the original architecture and age while providing all the modern touches. Bring on the long hot summers.

” Inspired by the homes of local fishermen, they designed a set of 3 cabanas: one for the living room, one for the kitchen, a third for bedrooms, connected by wooden walkways put on the sand. Suduca & Mérillou used traditional local materials: straw, wood, bamboo, lime. ‘We wanted to create a pure atmosphere, light and relaxing. Special care is given to the terraces runs much of the holiday life. Inside, the walls are whitewashed, beams in a monastic whiteness. Materials raw and poor, straw, reed, string, raffia relay around vintage pieces of Calder, Gio Ponti, Royere and Lurcat.”
