I feel that this title is totally misleading, but in a good way. This is nothing like I would have imagined a lake house in Minnesota to look like. From the American countryside we are now off to the French seaside at Saint-Jean-de-Luz. This family vacation house by Paris-based Sophie de L’Epine epitomises the laid back sophistication of the French beach style. So evocative of warm breezes, the smell of salt in the air and the hum of insects. There is sand on the floor, towels draped on stylish yet hard working furniture and the promise of an endless, carefree summer.
This Oxford home is what country living dreams are made of. An absolute beauty inside and out. Much of the furnishings are quite traditional but if you look a little closer you will spot details that are a bit more current, which makes me love this even more. Designed by VSP Interiors.
