A fabulous English family home

Posted on Mon, 26 Apr 2021 by midcenturyjo

Colour doesn’t have to scream at you “Look at me. Look at me.” Colour can surround you quietly, uplift you, calm you, delight you. This lovely Georgian house in Lewes, East Sussex by Cave Interiors is just such a place. Fabulous family fun.

“We designed this model apartment for The Belnord, a historic luxury residential building on Manhattan’s Upper West Side. The building’s rich past influenced the mix of old and new in the 4-bedroom space. Customized furnishings and fixtures, along with antique and vintage pieces, bring the character of the spaces to life.”

The apartment may be in the Big Apple but the look is la française. The Belnord by New York-based Anna Karlin who not only designs furniture and lighting but everything from digital and print to interiors and set design.

Balancing act

It’s a fine balancing act. Eclectic and exuberant, luxurious and timeless, family-friendly and West Side cool. Get it wrong and the balls will come tumbling down. No chance when your interior designer is Tali Roth. Her masterful reworking of this Chelsea townhouse is textured, layered, bold and bright.
