The maximalist home of Hollis Loudon

Posted on Thu, 1 Sep 2022 by KiM

I came across the portfolio of designer Hollis Loudon Puig of Hollis Loudon Interiors and this first project blew my mind. After some brief sleuthing I discovered it was Hollis’ own maximalist, whimsical home in Loudonville, NY. that she had gut-renovated. It is A LOT of colour and pattern and then some more pattern and I know it’s not to everyone’s taste but I soooo admire her creativity and uniqueness. She even has a room devoted to antique Christmas decorations!

Christmas spirit

Posted on Sun, 13 Dec 2020 by KiM

Everyone is getting into the Christmas spirit and since I don’t decorate for the holidays (I mostly blame the cats because they would play with and try and eat everything) I am living vicariously through others. I am always a fan of how Scandinavians decorate with typically alot of greenery so I tend to devour sites like sköna hem this time of year. This Norwegian home they featured is just how I like my Christmas decor – simple and fresh.

Christmas in a Swedish apartment

Posted on Sun, 15 Dec 2019 by KiM

With 10 days to go to Christmas I thought I would try to add a bit more festive vibes to the blog (since neither Jo nor I partake in any Christmas decorating) with this beautiful 49 sq m apartment in Sweden dolled up for the holidays. Home of 20 year old decorator Simon Olsson, it’s a delicious melange of white, grey and black and is filled with vintage finds. So cozy and the sparse pine trees and lighting really make it special. An Izen Architecture Christmas house

Posted on Wed, 11 Dec 2019 by KiM

Sharing some Christmas cheer from Brenda of Toronto-based Izen ArchitectureLast summer we completed the construction of a renovation for which we designed both the architecture and interiors. Soon after, the client reached out again and asked us to design and install Christmas decorations throughout her house to surprise her husband!! This is one of the most thoughtful surprises I could ever imagine and we  brought on a couple of stylists that we had worked with during a previous shoot to help out.

Merry Christmas

Posted on Tue, 25 Dec 2018 by midcenturyjo

I can’t believe another year has come and gone and it is Christmas again. Time to choose our favourite rooms from the last 12 months. (I actually jumped the gun and started yesterday but I know you will forgive me.) Kim and I hope you all have a wonderful holiday full of family, friends and too much festive food. We’ll see you in a couple of weeks with new posts but in the meantime it’s time to fall down the rabbit hole and rediscover what we shared with you this year.
