The Jones Fix

Posted on Fri, 23 Sep 2016 by KiM

Layne Jones Postilion a.k.a The Jones Fix is taking bohemian chic to a whole other level. I discovered her on Instagram and her home, where several of these photos were taken, and client’s spaces are rocking my boho world with tons of plants, bright colours and funky vintage finds. She’s bringing it big time. (Photos: Jessica Giesey)

Swan River House

It’s easy to see that the interior designers at Kim Pearson are “interested in the worlds that exist in and between the old and the new, the directional and the classic, the contemporary and the traditional.” This family house in Perth, Western Australia is full of colour and personality with considered respect for its 110 year old history. Modern yes but definitely not renovated within an inch of its life. A family home with soul.

When stalking makes you jealous

By now you’ll know that I have a thing for old houses. Give me a home with a little history and character over a modern build any day. It seems obvious that I would like this little cottage in Sydney’s inner east and yes it does tick the boxes for me but… I’m having trouble concentating on the house at all. I’ve been bewitched by the art collection. OMG! What I wouldn’t do to get my grubby, greedy mits on those glorious canvases. The house could be a hovel and I’d still want to move in. Can I buy the collection instead of the house do you think? Link here while it lasts.

Stalking the Yellow House

Posted on Mon, 19 Sep 2016 by midcenturyjo

I’m stalking the redevelopment of Sydney’s historic Yellow House, part art gallery, part artists’ collective and home to the city’s bohemians… at least it was until the mighty dollar saw the building morphing into modern (read expensive) apartment living. Still this one bedroom abode is no bland wall flower, celebrating its colourful past with Zaha Hadid wallpaper, Kreon light fittings and kaleidoscopic bathroom. Link here while it lasts.

Camilla Molders Design

The bold and the beautiful. That’s what I should have called this post. Melbourne-based interior designer Camilla Molders creates clean-lined, contemporary rooms with something extra. Bold colour, bespoke fixtures and furniture, beautiful textiles and her signature custom rugs. “Every project I work on is different as every client is different and being their home, it should be a space that truly suits them and their lifestyles! My job is to hold their hand, push their boundaries, but still create a space that is inspiring.” And they are Camilla… very inspiring.
