Milena Aguiar

I spotted the work of Brazilian interior architect/designer Milena Aquiar in a magazine I read while on holidays and her portfolio is full of energetic, vivid, no-nonsense-while-having-a-blast, colourful spaces that define the term eye candy. If neutrals are more your style, brace yourself.

More from Guilherme Torres

Brazilian architect/designer Guilherme Torres has a distinctive style that I love – industrial elements (hellooooo concrete – love the lighting strip), bold colour accents (often entire walls), large graphic artwork, and modern furnishings (see previous post here). Here are two apartments from his portfolio (both located in São Paolo, the first is 86 m² and the second is 49 m²). I seem to have an eclectic theme going on today, as it doesn’t get more eclectic than this! Happy Friday!

Rachel Whiting encore

Light, bright, colourful, fab. Ok we toss those worlds around a lot on the blog but that’s what these images by British photographer Rachel Whiting are. Go lose yourself in Ms Whiting’s portfolio. It’s about shape and colour and form and simplicity. Like jumping into a pool on a hot day. Refreshing.

Shiny bright and new

Older apartments have a lot going for them. They are often bigger and, dare I say, better built but what you gain in extra square metres and solid walls is counterbalanced by tired old decorating schemes and years of use and abuse. Tart the old dears up and that’s a different story. The scope of work in this William St, Melbourne apartment included renovating the bathroom and kitchen and the addition of an entertainment unit in the living area. Shiny, bright and new. The perfect inner city pad by Katherine Wills Design.

I want this house

Posted on Fri, 10 Jan 2014 by KiM

This is the Toronto home of interior designer and architect Stephane Chamard. I think of all the homes I have lost my mind over that I have featured on the blog, this one is my absolute favourite. To take an older home with incredible architectural details and modernize it with gorgeous funky furniture, black paint and amazing lighting and artwork is my dream. I could without a doubt move into this home and not touch a damn thing. It’s so fantastic I could cry right now. Stephane, I envy you with every ounce of my being.
