Muted mulberry

Scandinavian white walls anchored by dark floors. Muted mulberry and muddied browns flirt with slaps of black, dashes of blue, fresh flashes of cool green and slivers of silver. It’s a sophisticated look, an elegant look, a muted maturity, a casual luxury by Wenche Holth of Suzani Interiør.

Reader request – sexy, glamourous rooms

Posted on Fri, 30 Sep 2011 by KiM

Today’s reader request comes from Ina in Norway: I’d like to request a post about sexy, glamorous rooms. a’la your post called “Room porn” from the 13th of July. I feel that lately there has just been a lot of posts about entirely white rooms, and it’s getting old. Lets bring some colors to the screen (preferably dark, calm ones). As much as I love white spaces, I agree with Ina – dark spaces are SO moody and can be SO hot. I’d be happy to give you all a bit of sexy and glamourous today (yes, this is a bit of a subjective post but I tried). Happy Friday!

A Mark Zeff project

Posted on Thu, 8 Sep 2011 by KiM

I have been a fan of Mark Zeff‘s work since I blogged about him back in ’07. His firm sent along photos of one of his latest projects and I was more than eager to share these with you all. This is the lower levels of a rather large townhouse in SoHo owned by Vikram Chatwal (of Hampshire Hotel Group). It’s unmistakably a bachelor pad (hello photography of topless chicks and what looks like a surfboard in the hallway) but I really like the equal parts funk and contemporary. It’s a cool blend, and seems like the perfect place to entertain.
