Christmas! Really? Christmas already? Wasn’t it only New Year’s Eve a couple of months ago? I was shocked into action when the crew at Inside Out sent me a sneak peek at the cover story of the November issue, “Comfort & Joy” with words by Clare Patience, styling by Julia Green and photography by Armelle Habib. Love the casually stylish, beach meets scandi meets handmade vibe of both the decorations and the house. Can’t wait to to devour the rest of the magazine.
Aussie readers can pick up their copy Thursday. Don’t fret if you aren’t in Australia though because you can read along on Zinio, Google Play and the Apple Newsstand. I’ve been reading for a couple of months on Zinio and I love it. Still think I’ll be picking up a real copy though. Can’t break the habit.
It has been about 5 years since I last featured Parisian architect and interior designer Pierre Yovanovitch, and after devouring his portfolio I have to admit that I’m loving his newer work much more. A bit more refined, a bit more rustic, a bit more neutral. Elegant and contemporary, design projects that persuade by the strength of their soundly conceived architectural presence that gracefully avoids both complication and ostentation. So good I have some favourites coming up later.
I’ve got more “what I would do if I lived there” projects. This time by Rachcoff Vella Architecture. Their homes are modern, streamlined, bright and just pure class. All of the massive windows and the stunning wood floors and wood-clad walls used throughout are a dream.
The lovely folks at Domus Nova sent along photos of a new property they added to their roster last week but despite it being basically unfurnished, it has such gorgeous architectural details that ideas keep popping into my head of how I could work with this absolutely incredible space…. Although for £7,500,000 you might be furnishing it with cardboard box tables and a pile of straw for a bed. 🙂
Never mind the main house, I’m sure it is lovely. I’m moving into the guest house. Perched in the hills above Sonoma, California with views of vineyards and oak trees is this beautifully crafted stone cottage by Nicole Hollis. I would be the house guest from hell though. Why would I ever want to leave?
