Working on a Saturday

It’s like I say week in week out. If you have to drag yourself to work on a weekend it helps if it’s somewhere stylish. Hotel Flora by Gert Voorjans.

A dreamy apartment in Saint-Germain-des-Prés

Posted on Wed, 13 Dec 2023 by KiM

This Paris apartment designed by architect Pauline Lorenzi Boisrond of Studio Ett Hem is top to bottom full of WOW factor elements. I mean the kitchen alone – that terracotta (?) tile floor, the beautiful cabinetry, the banquette, a statement tiled fireplace wall (a fireplace in the kitchen, what a dream!)…and then you turn around and there is the coziest black low-ceiling lounge nook. AND THEN you walk into the bathroom and I’m about to pass out over that tiled bathtub alcove. LOVE THIS!!!! Sourcing: Milkshake Interior; photos: BCDF studio.

Kitchen love

Sometimes it’s fun to mix it up in the kitchen and I don’t mean a cake mix. How about the Nest Kitchen by Studio Doherty for Laminex? It’s an exploration of colour and layout and while some will not like it I love it.

Castello Xirumi Serravalle

Posted on Sun, 3 Dec 2023 by KiM

An enchanting land overlooking an infinite green of citrus, aromatic flora and island palms, an illustrious castle from the 16th century, and a Baronessa with a vision of an elegant countryside venue for weddings and special events. This is Castello Xirumi Serravalle, a magnificent Sicilian treasure belonging to the noble Grimaldi di Serravalle family for centuries. The historical castle has been transformed into a private estate where every room has become a living space with antique millstones, warehouses, olive oil presses, wine cellars, and more. Gracious gathering and dining spaces provide numerous options for entertainment. The open plan on the ground floor of the castle offers elegantly appointed rooms, each one overflowing into the next, and enabling large numbers of guests to circulate the property.
This castello is so incredibly picturesque and its restoration and design by Studio Andrea Perra is magical. That photo with the horse I might never forget. Photos: Mattia Aquila

Southern charm in a Nashville home

Posted on Fri, 1 Dec 2023 by KiM

This family home in Nashville was designed by April Tomlin and exudes warmth and character and cozy cottage vibes from every corner. I am completely smitten with the European-style kitchen AND the working pantry AND the entertaining kitchen off the pool area. So much kitchen-y goodness to fall head over heels for!
