Christmas in a Swedish apartment

Posted on Sun, 15 Dec 2019 by KiM

With 10 days to go to Christmas I thought I would try to add a bit more festive vibes to the blog (since neither Jo nor I partake in any Christmas decorating) with this beautiful 49 sq m apartment in Sweden dolled up for the holidays. Home of 20 year old decorator Simon Olsson, it’s a delicious melange of white, grey and black and is filled with vintage finds. So cozy and the sparse pine trees and lighting really make it special. WARNING: Get yourself some tissues before delving into this post. You’re going to need something to pop up the drool.

Lumière Lodge is brimming with colour, minimal and perfect. Watch the seasons whisper in through the homes antique windows, indulge in whiskey by the fire, or slip into the clawed foot bath and bathe under the light of the stained glass window. Launched in Winter of 2019 Lumière Lodge is the perfect location for creative content studio bookings. Lumière Lodge has been lovingly restored to its original beauty and is true to the Victorian Style.(Photos: Marnie Hawson)

Dark drama

Dark and dramatic, moody and marvellous this Woollahra cottage by interior architect Phoebe Nicol is like a stage set perfect for playing out your everyday life with panache. A wall of mirror increases the sense of space in the narrow house while a carefully curated collection of antique and contemporay furniture pices, artwork and objet plays against the dark walls. In contrast the bedroom is light yet soft, a personal oasis.

Maybe not the top of the world but how about a stellar view from this Greenwich Peninsula apartment? And the cereal? Why it’s a collaboration between Cereal Magazine and Conran. Featuring contemporary and vintage pieces in a moody grey setting of concrete, stone and dark timbers the Cereal ABODE is for sale via Aucoot.

A small modern apartment in Moscow

Posted on Tue, 13 Aug 2019 by KiM

This 40 m² apartment in Moscow is a flawless example of how to maximize space when there isn’t much to work with. Cartelle Design used a grey base and added bits of colour with a bold AF yellow bed and platform, a red mirror in the hallway and pretty pink tile in the bathroom. High ceilings and large windows across the apartment help to make it feel larger and loft-like. Love this.
