Bali beauty

“The project is conceived holistically as an ecologically sustainable product, coexisting coherently with its omnipresent natural environment. Using locally sourced materials, such as buried Javanese teak, bamboo, and stones from Sumba, was deemed a priority … Every detail is considered so carefully that even the organic vegetables grown in the garden are part of the overall conception.”

Elegant yet casual the house is a series of 5 pavilions filled with the owner’s collection of textiles.  For me, it’s the sinuous infinity pool and that view. I cannot wait until travel restrictions are lifted and we can travel again as the estate is available to rent. Hartland by Bali-based Studio Jencquel.

La Belle Vue

La Belle Vue is a B&B that is a little slice of absolute heaven in the small village of Neffiés in southwestern France. Built in 1857, Swedish couple Yvonne and Micke purchased the home which had so many beautiful details intact – old windows, stucco, tall doors, fireplaces, handmade tiles in fantastic patterns and a view to die for, and transformed it into a glorious getaway.

Sunday at White Water lodge

We’re still in lockdown so I’m dreaming of escaping to….just about anywhere. White Water lodge on Moonstone Beach in Cambria, CA would be an absolutely fabulous getaway. What a stunning location! Designed by Freudenberger Design Studio.

Penthouse Panopea in Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico. Book via Airbnb.

Sunday at a boutique hotel

Posted on Sun, 21 Mar 2021 by KiM

The weather is beautiful here in Ottawa this weekend and we’re in yet another lockdown so to pass the time I’m spending it outside lounging in the backyard and trying to spread the snow piles we have left around the yard so they’ll melt faster. Fellow Canadians I know are laughing at this because WE ALL DO IT. Spring and summer can’t get here fast enough. Anyway, I spotted this beautiful luxury boutique hotel/guest house, Maison de la Luz, located in New Orleans in the portfolio of Studio Shamshiri and had to share. It is sooo unique, sophisticated and elegant. What I would give for a weekend getaway here!
