Finca fabulous

Posted on Thu, 1 Dec 2022 by midcenturyjo

Is it the weekend yet? Please? I think I’ll spend today daydreaming that I’m holidaying at this spectacularly renovated 300-year-old finca with nine luxurious bedroom suites, a saltwater swimming pool, dedicated wellness area and a sound-proofed party cave. Yes a sound-proofed party cave. For me it’s just a dream but maybe you can go. Finca La Inika available for rent via Domus Nova.

Hotel La Bionda

Exclusive eight-room hotel in an 18th century building in Begur, a complete project in which the studio has been in charge of the concept, branding and image as well as the whole restoration and decoration. The traditional Catalan house required a thorough structural reform to be later updated with traditional techniques and materials Quintana Partners also incorporated the latest technology to reuse energy and water resources to achieve energy sufficiency The starting point of the decoration are inspiring women from the early twentieth century, whose personality has been reflected in each room, such as Charlotte Cooper, English tennis player, the first woman to win the Olympic Games, Emilie Flöge, muse of the painter Gustav Klint, textile designer, or the dancer Carmen Amaya, a devotee of Begur.
Absolutely beautiful. What a dream to be able to spend a few nights here.

Hotel Saint Vincent

A building with an illustrious past, the Hotel Saint Vincent‘s story begins 160 ago when it was opened as the Saint Vincent’s Infant Asylum by the heroic Margaret Houghery. Unveiled in the summer of 2021, in New Orleans’ Lower Garden District, the careful restoration of this 1861 building honors its stately history while layering on a new sense of modernity. The interior spaces are a marriage of original 19th century detailing with mid-20th century Italian design elements. Including 75 guestrooms and suites, guests and members can enjoy drinks by the newly refurbished pool or the dark and moody Chapel Club. Our San Lorenzo restaurant serves coastal Italian fare to locals and guests as well as the Paradise bar where all are welcome. The Elizabeth Street cafe offers breakfast pastries, coffee and Vietnamese fare throughout the day.
All the fun and energy you would expect from New Orleans. Designed by Lambert McGuire. Photos: Casey DunnDouglas Friedman & Matt Harrington

Looking for a little getaway in France? 40 rue de l’anguille is beautiful 45 m² space located in L’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, Provence and owned by Clotilde Vente, an antique dealer and interior designer. The apartment was renovated with ancient materials and one-of-a-kind pieces collected at antique fairs (there are many in the area!) and it is a simple and serene place to stay for a vacation. Microluxe

Posted on Thu, 7 Apr 2022 by midcenturyjo

“A showroom, store & hotel in one. Designed for property company microluxe.  Micro in that it challenges what can be achieved within a small space through clever cutting edge design. Luxe in its attention to detail – from the exquisite furniture, artwork and finishes.”

Melbourne-based Studio Edwards and the converted apartment in Fitzroy. Marble walled bathroom, gold Murphy bed, hovering steel monolithic kitchen. It’s hard to believe this design is 5 years old. Microluxe seems to have moved on. I wonder if the studio apartment remains?
