A loft in a converted warehouse

Posted on Wed, 29 Aug 2018 by KiM

Didier Ryan of British architecture firm Undercurrent Architects worked some magic on this warehouse conversion to create an absolutely fabulous loft. What was once a furniture depot for the renowned department store Harrods is now modern, unfussy and spacious. Featuring windows I would do just about anything for.

East Dulwich industrial conversion

Posted on Tue, 28 Aug 2018 by midcenturyjo

It’s almost impossible to imagine that this light-filled family home was once a dank, dark derelict Victorian-era diary. The conversion by Beth Dadswell of Imperfect Interiors is nothing short of miraculous. Unique and full of character it’s a wonderful mix of modern day family living and its industrial roots.

A modern industrial kitchen in Montreal

Posted on Fri, 3 Aug 2018 by KiM

A big thanks to interior designer Cyrille Maurice for letting us know about this awesome modern industrial kitchen he renovated for a client in Montreal. It had to flow with the rest of the lofty open floor plan and kept sleek and minimal. The refrigerator was hidden, and huge sliding doors hide lots of storage for things like the microwave, cookbooks and a wine fridge. I really dig the detail of the sink with the faucet installed to the left instead of behind it. The butcher block countertop and section of the island add warmth. Gorgeous!!!

A spacious London loft

Posted on Mon, 16 Jul 2018 by KiM

This incredible and spacious loft in Camden Town, London makes my modest sized home look like a miniature doll house. What a dream to have all of this square footage to play with! Interior architect and designer Marianne Tiegen created magic here and was very smart in her choices – the biggest rug I’ve ever seen anchoring the bulkiest sectional sofas ever with the largest bookshelves I’ve ever seen in a residential application…

Industrial vintage bathrooms

Posted on Tue, 10 Jul 2018 by KiM

After a scan through the portfolio of Estúdio Penha in my previous post, it quickly became apparent that Vitor Penha has a thing for industrial bathrooms with vintage touches. As a result, I dug through all of his commercial and residential projects and came up with this lineup for you. Enjoy!
