I love Saturdays!

What a great day thrifting! Found this fabulous 70’s lamp. It needs rewiring and the shade is definitely in need of total body cosmetic surgery but it will be perfect for my living room make over. That’s the fabulous fabric I mentioned in last week’s WINKS. It’s by metremade and just arrived. I had plans to use it on another two lampshades but it must be fate that I found this lamp. Perhaps I’ll just use it as a trim on a crisp white shade. I definitely love Saturdays!

I’m supposed to be drafting posts for this week but I’m spending my afternoon recovering my dining room chairs. All six of them. They’re part of a dining set made in Brisbane by Danish immigrant Hans Larsen who made furniture to Danish designs using Australian rainforest timbers during the 60s. These chairs are blackbean not teak. I love them so much but felt I needed a change from their black leather seats. So I recovered them with….. a table cloth. Don’t worry their original covers are still underneath. Only 5 more to go! Oh and a weeks worth of posts still to do. P.S The pots are West German floor vases, another collecting vice I have.

Gotta love Saturday!

Just bought these little beauties for $40 AUS for the 4. Thats about $34 US. Shame that they weren’t all the same but at $10 AUS a chair who cares. A local designer was having a showroom sale and these were buried down the back. Brought them out into the light and they were mine. Now I just have to get them home. Thinking lacquered chartreuse with patterned navy and white cushions. Three for my patio area in the courtyard and one in the bathroom maybe. Also scored 10 metres of outdoor UV resistant upholstery in a thin navy stripe on the roll for $200 and he threw in a lovely jade and bone calligraphy brush for $10. I love Saturdays.
