Young, edgy, now. Architect Emma Templeton and her design team at Templeton create beautiful, functional designs, exquisite in their simple beauty. Where Oz design is now and setting the bar high for design to come. Short listed for the 2012 IDEA awards in the single residence category Templeton is definitely making waves with their calm, contemporary spaces.

One last little taste of Eric Striffler‘s work. I adore this country kitchen (I’m a big fan of white cabinets and black countertops). Complete with fat old dog chillin’ out.

When living space is tight there is no reason not to live big. It just takes clever solutions. A sleek, almost sculptural solution to open plan living with kitchen in plain view. Hide it way but celebrate the deception. Love this little black and white kitchen by double g.

… this gorgeous kitchen by Brisbane stylist Kara Rosenlund. I’d be smiling too if I could cook in a vintage dream like this. More of Kara’s work on her website and for those readers in the Brisbane area Kara and her Travelling Wares caravan shop (otherwise know as Frankie) can be found at the Jan Power Farmers Markets this Saturday 11th February at the Powerhouse, New Farm.

New work from Philadelphia based interior designer Ashli Mizell. I love the rustic look of the tiles against the marble and cabinets. It’s rough vs smooth, modern trad with a twist of ethnic. A clash of tiles reminiscent of the pattern riots of the riad plays with the calm of the white while smoky hues play with earthy oranges. A hint of Morocco. It’s the layering that comes through in Ashli’s designs. Pattern on pattern, texture on texture. Rustic on the modern. (Original post on Ashli Mizell here.)
