Mid century, modern and classic

Close your eyes. Imagine a refurbished 80s condominium. Now imagine classic mid century pieces. Add in traditional art works. Pop it all on a shiny shiny floor. Open your eyes. Voilà! Here it is. A fabulous Baltimore Loft by Annapolis, Maryland based Bohl Architects.

A not-all-white apartment for sale in Sweden

Posted on Sun, 25 Mar 2018 by KiM

This apartment for sale in Östermalm, Sweden is a total gem. Fairly roomy, a mix of dark and light spaces with some funky mid-century furnishings and bold lighting, and some beautiful blown-up photography on the walls. That pretty much sums up all of my favourite things in a home. Available via Lagerlings.

Modern industrial by Regan Baker

I love this really fun, mid-century modern home designed by Regan BakerSecond home, stylish brewery owners, decided to hire Regan Baker Design to transform their beloved Duboce Park home into an organic modern oasis reflecting their modern aesthetic and sustainable, green conscience lifestyle. From hops to floors, we worked extensively with our design savvy clients to provide a new footprint for their kitchen, dining and living room area, redesigned three bathrooms, reconfigured and designed the master suite, and replaced an existing spiral staircase with a new modern, steel staircase.

A contemporary home with hits of colour

Posted on Fri, 19 Jan 2018 by KiM

It has been a while since we featured some projects by Nashville-based Crowell & Co. (see here and here). Hannah’s style is so fresh and bright and easy on the eye so I wanted to share another project of hers that is all that and more. This contemporary home is bathed in white with just the right amount of colour accents, some funky abstract art and bold elements like the dining room pendant and rug. Love!!

I wanted to share this project by Amber Sokolowski of Soko Design because it shows how to inject personality into a home without much architectural interest. A fireplace in the dining room is a great feature, and despite it being somewhat oddly placed, is now a focal point when wrapped in graphic tile. Love the teak dining set adding some mid-century funk and adore the large scale artwork in the foyer.
