See – if you ask nicely and wait patiently sometimes wishes come true. Websites get updated or redesigned. Australian architectural firm Carter Williamson design fabulous modern homes, clean and minimal. They turn their backs on the bustle of the outside world and address the private areas within without losing that inside/out feel. And their kitchens! We’ve featured them before and Shaun Carter has even sent us photos as they updated their website. Now the site is live and there are so many more wonderful images and a wonderful look at work in progress and concepts. Time to revisit and be inspired.

Last year I posted about New York design firm 2Michaels, founded by twins Joan and Jayne. Joan emailed the other day to let us know that both her and her sister’s apartments were featured in a recent issue of Interior Design. Joan lives in Jayne’s former 1,200 sq ft apartment, “the cheapest two-bed, two-bath on the Upper West Side” while Jayne scored an affordable 1,100 sq ft Midtown apartment with East River views that had been untouched by the former owner for 40 years. Jayne’s apartment required alot of work while Joan’s required alot of furniture (she moved in with only 3 pieces). The results of both apartments is a mid-century vintage vibe and lots of iconic furniture and accessories, and so much stunning artwork. (Thanks Joan and Jayne for sharing your homes with us!)

A limited palette but maximum appeal. Stark modern interiors by Paris architectural firm Joseph Dirand. Oh the luxury of pure minimalism. Imagine having a sleek and often hidden home for the “things” of everyday life. Clean lines may be cold to some but heaven to others. And just a hint of aged timber to warm the heart!

The work of Lake|Flato Architects is jaw-dropping gorgeous. Architecture merges fluently with landscape. Spaces that leave you with a sense of serenity. Land, light, sustainability and community are all crucial principals they follow. The amount of windows and views they take advantage of are stunning. I’ll take them all.

In my humble opinion, there is absolutely nothing more fabulous than mid-century modern and Hollywood regency. Pair these two styles (think Jonathan Adler) and I’m in heaven. PURE HEAVEN. My heart races when I come across portfolios as incredible as that of David Jimenez. I cannot believe Jo and I have not posted his work before. This genius of design has now made it to my top 5 list. His Palm Springs house, below, is something that dreams (mine anyway) are made of.
