I’ve always loved suspended fireplaces, their fat bulbous bodies hanging in space. Imagine my reaction (a gasp and a happy squeal) when I went virtual real estate strolling scrolling and found one hanging in a glass box, well a glass walled extension anyway. I’m in the Melbourne suburb of Prahran checking out a period home with a modern open-plan addition which spills into a low maintenance garden. You’ll find it here while the link lasts.

Sticks and Stones

Refined and elegant, restrained and stylish. Yes this Sydney garden is all that … and more. Green and abundant, generous and lush, a subtropical treat. The Bellevue Hill Project by (the wonderfully named)landscape designers Sticks and Stones.

It’s a dream that many of us hold … to live in a converted warehouse. The exposed beams or brick, that industrial feel, the space! This charming home started life as a factory in the 1890s but its conversion (designed by architect Micheal Muir) is less industrial and vast open spaces, more intimacy and sanctuary. I’m real estate strolling scrolling in the Sydney suburb of Annandale and I’d move in in a heart beat. Link here while it lasts.

Light and white

Crisp, white and contemporary with light flowing in through high walls of glass. A seamless connection between inside and out. Warmth from just enough texture and wood. What more could you want in a modern home? You certainly don’t need more words from me. Just drink in the inspiration from the pictures. The White House by Melbourne-based architectural and interior design firm Robson Rak.
