A pied-à-terre in Le Marais

Posted on Tue, 4 Aug 2015 by KiM

I could not stop at just one project by London interior designer Hubert Zandberg. This pied-à-terre in Le Marais, Paris is just about the coolest little apartment I have ever seen. Once again, it is fabulously eclectic but this time a bit more theme-y, with industrial touches, and a colour palette of black, grey, white and green. So cool!!!

This space above proves Hubert is the KING of fantastic bathrooms. Another one I am totally swooning over.

Apartment for a hooligan

Crosby Studios is at it again, this time with a very small apartment (with a name that cracked me up so I had to use it as the title) that appears to have had a fairly limited renovation budget. And once again, they managed to keep it sleek and cool and homey.

Stalking a smart apartment

Actually I’m stalking an apartment by Smart Design Studio but in another incarnation. You’ll see the original styling of the apartment by the architect a few photos done but what is listed is another owner’s take on the space. Not quite as dramatic (or perhaps it’s the difference in photographers, the double images are from the architect’s website) this softer, whiter version still showcases the clever layout of this studio apartment in Potts Point, Sydney. A small apartment

A clever redesign of a small one bedroom apartment in inner city Sydney makes better use of the existing space without losing the character of this older style dwelling. The key was to make a small study area the bedroom with movable walls that borrow space from the bathroom and hallway. The original bedroom then becomes a dining room connecting to the living area, a luxurious addition to small space living in the heart of the city. Stalking the imperfect

A house and a tiny apartment. Both perfectly imperfect. Yes there are gaps and cracks. White paint unites disparate surfaces and eras. Art draws the eye. Style and personality and something I can’t put my finger on. The frisson of wabi sabi? One thing I do know. There are not enough photos! I need to see more. The first house is in Avalon with the link here. The second is a bijou home in Potts Point. Who needs a sofa when friends can gather round your table. Link here while it lasts.
