Completely refurbished to accommodate the clients’ family, this typical 1980s home has been modernized to showcase the various vintage pieces amidst a space filled with character, just like its owners.  With a strong presence of wood, marble and touches of color, the ambience of each room reflects the Blanc Marine signature as well as the clients’ love of art and antiques, contributing in every way to the unique atmosphere that emanates from this home.
Charlotte-Denys residence designed again by Blanc Marine. I would have never EVER guessed this was a typical boring 1980s home. Lots of dark elements for drama, gold toned woods for some warmth, a sense of calm and old world vibes…I love every element and every inch of this. (Photos: Charles-Olivier Richard)

A colourful period townhouse in West Sussex

This charming period property in Midhurst was in urgent need of an overhaul after being a rental for many years. The ground floor felt very cramped and had an awkward layout, whilst upstairs was riddled with damp issues. We completed a full design and build on this property, with a good sized ground floor extension and a total refurbishment. This allowed for an inviting kitchen and dining area which was perfect for our clients’ to entertain and spend time with their family. Carefully considered colour was injected into all the rooms, together with playful fabrics and unique vintage furniture.
This home is now brimming with personality thanks to the kaleidoscope of colour used throughout. It is tantalizing right from the entryway and invites you inside with open arms. By Vaughan Design & Development.

“A nurse with a busy lifestyle wants more function in her early 1900s home without losing its character & charm.”

A neutral colour palette doesn’t necessarily mean bland. Layers of texture and natural materials add warmth and life. A sweet small home, a calming escape from a hectic work life. St. Kilda Aussie Cottage Reno by Studio Ezra.

Warsaw-based Colombe Studio never ceases to amaze me with their creativity and attention to detail. This kitchen may not be huge or have lots of storage but it’s a work of art and absolutely beautiful. This apartment is giving me somewhat museum vibes but in the best way as it is still inviting but every item and every detail makes such a statement. Photos: Kasia Gatkowska

A graphic transformation

The renovation of this 85m2 historic house in Valencia, Spain by Viruta Lab had its genesis in the maritime essence of the old fishing neighbourhood. It was important to respectfully restore the original architectural elements and existing materials after years of neglect to reveal their hidden splendour. The project focuses on enhancing the house’s historic charm, reintroducing essential elements with a new language evoking the sea. Brick walls contrast with blue and white mosaic checkerboard tiles, creating a hypnotic optical effect. The home retains its traditional natural light entryways and features a rooftop with a charming gazebo.
