Monteagle cottage

What does one do with an 1890 Carpenter-Gothic-style cottage in Monteagle Tennessee? In this case interior designer Rachel Halvorson painted it all white for simplicity and brightness, added lots of vintage earthy touches and sympathetically restored and left natural some parts to keep it warm and inviting. *round of applause!*

Paris designer Vincent Darré is the king of surrealist, maximalist interiors. His creativity is limitless and the combination of his bold colour choices and exquisite furnishings with Parisian architecture makes for truly unique magical spaces. This is his apartment and it is wild!

In a comment the other day an American reader of ours begged us to show some style mixed with warmth and humanity (aka: lived in). Given the horror show that went on there I felt compelled to oblige. I spotted this apartment in a highrise in Moscow on The Village and thought it was perfect to share. This could not be more warm, lived-in, practical, full of life, overflowing with a beautiful energy thanks to bright colours and lots of vintage finds. My thoughts are with my neighbours to the south and I hope this brings a smile to your faces.
