Stack of books

Posted on Tue, 13 Sep 2016 by KiM

What do you do when you have a ton of books and no bookshelves? STACK ‘EM UP! Great idea and looks pretty fab, but only if you don’t plan on reading any side from the top few. 🙂 Via a real estate listing in Sweden on Lagerlings. And because this apartment has a rustic vintage vibe I really dig, here are a few extra photos.

A Victorian period home in London

Posted on Sun, 21 Aug 2016 by KiM

It isn’t often that a home is so beautiful it practically has me in tears. This is one of those homes. This very large, 4 story Victorian home in London has been furnished with junk shop, auction and eBay finds. The kind of finds you can’t find anywhere around the Ottawa area, and the kind I imagine salivating over if I ever have the opportunity to visit London, or Paris, or any other city with unimaginably fantastic flea markets. A luxurious apartment in Central Park West

If you are going to live in a 1930’s high-rise in New York City, the only way to go is GLAM GLAM GLAM! This apartment on the 33rd floor of Robert A.M. Stern’s 15 Central Park West is owned by a luxury bag designer, so no doubt interior design firm The Archers had to go luxurious with it. Drop dead gorgeous wallpapers by Gracie and Fornasetti adorn many walls, and the Gracie paper in the dining room is EVERYTHING – especially with the yellow curtains to play up the bold colour. The bedrooms are a playful mix of light/art deco and dark/gothic and I am totally smitten with each one. (This would make the best Airbnb!)

A rustic, industrial library by Jamie Banfield

Beautiful slabs of walnut (I’m guessing here), reclaimed wood shelves, raw steel supports, some stunning artwork, a vintage typewriter (this one is incredible, it too is like art) together in a small space make for an ideal cozy library/workspace with a masculine, rustic, industrial feel to it. A relook at Mapesbury Road

It has been a few years since Jo featured Mapesbury Road, the home of stylist Marianne Cotterill. This utterly covetable home is currently available for shoots via 1st Option and they kindly sent over lots of juicy photos. This home speaks to me on so many levels. The architecture alone is incredible, then add in all of the absolutely stunning vintage furnishings and the heart palpitations begin. I can see myself forever moving pieces around from room to room trying out different combinations. I love this sooooo much. Thank you 1st Option for the reminder of how fabulous this home is.
