Cactus in the kitchen

Posted on Wed, 23 Oct 2013 by KiM

Nothing fancy, just a very white apartment decorated with an odd assortment of lighting, furniture and a huge cactus in the kitchen. Because WHY NOT?! Via Le case di Elixìr.

Crate madness

Posted on Sun, 13 Oct 2013 by KiM

Happy Thanksgiving to all our Canadian readers! I am beyond excited to head to my parents later today and eat my face off. 🙂 Speaking of giving thanks, I know I should be thankful that I have a home (among many other things) but WOW – I’d rather live in this funky loft! I have an obsession with vintage storage items – particularly wooden crates, and I have never seen anything like this before. It’s crate madness!!!! They’re EVERYWHERE!!! They’re makeshift walls, a kitchen island base, a bed, night stands, a coffee table, sofas, a bathroom vanity….. Industrial work spaces

I blogged about Budapest-based artKRAFT over the summer, and was smitten with their love of vintage industrial furnishings. They sent some photos of industrial work spaces this time and WOW I love the spaces they have created here (being the industrial junkie that I am). This makes me want to go thrifting…or buy everything in their shop.

Fran Parente

I’ve highlighted Brazilian photographer Fran Parente‘s work before. It’s hard not to as he has snapped the work of many of Brazil’s hottest architects and designers. What I love most about his work is his ability to capture the personality of these spaces. Bold, quirky, strong, theatrical and even, at times, real. Fantasy and fact. Brilliant.
