A spectacular New York City loft

Posted on Mon, 14 Nov 2022 by KiM

This New York City loft is drop dead gorgeous and I am completely smitten. It has everything: colour, pattern, vintage, modern, light and dark, texture, a little shine…. Todd Nickey and Amy Kehoe really outdid themselves with this project. (Photos: Haris Kenjar)

Kin House is a lovingly restored (by owners Matt and Gaby Harvey and interior-design studio Barlow & Barlow) 1680 Georgian manor in the Wiltshire countryside, open for private parties, retreats, high times or down time. It has a shell-encrusted grotto, 12 gloriously designed bedrooms and would be an incredible venue for a wedding or an epic party. What a beauty!

I love this story…
Miss Rose contacted me from Philadelphia in the midst of pandemic to ask if I would be willing to make her a pied à terre in the Marais. An American who had fallen in love with France, she dreamed of being able to offer herself a refuge in Paris. In this particular health context, the urgency to live her dreams took precedence. The flat was bought from a distance and we worked together on the project by skype. It was a great way to escape from everyday life by defying the prohibitions, to meet around a project that offered us a beautiful escapade in the imagination. Miss Rose has that quiet determination that breaks down all obstacles; that confidence and emotional generosity that carries you along. She knew even before she bought the flat that I was going to make her nest and she accompanied us throughout the project with a patience and enthusiasm that made this adventure an exceptional moment

The Glengrove

A space designed by Ashley Montgomery has an old world feel in an entirely reimagined way. Carefully-curated, artisan-made, textural, tonal, and timeworn—she composes each space with storied, contrasting elements. The result is organic, collected, and unexpectedly effortless
I fell head over heels in love with this home and then nearly fell off my chair when I found out Ashley is from Barrie, Ontario. This home is everything – unique, fun, moody, eclectic with incredible colour combinations. I am 150% on board with this. (Photos: Lauren Miller)
