Minimal and white

Posted on Thu, 10 Oct 2013 by KiM

I often wish I had enough will power to live minimally. This location home in the UK is a dream. It’s a bit sad to see what must have been alot of really gorgeous wood painted but WOW – all this white is spectacular. I wish I could live with all those white painted floors too but I’ve learned the hard way that they aren’t practical in my home. I’d settle for just the kitchen – TO DIE FOR!!! Via 1st Option.

The Cross Design – Yaletown condo

I have another girly pad for you by Vancouver’s The Cross Design. This one is a 1200 sq ft. condo located in the heart of Yaletown designed to be kid friendly. But it’s so white! I guess in this case bleach is your friend. LOL (It was featured in a Christmas issue of Canadian House & Home hence the slightly festive decor). It’s so freaking pretty, and I totally love the art and chandelier in the dining room.

A Parisian flat in Pacific Heights

Sutro Architects call it a Parisian Modern Flat… except it’s in the Pacific Heights area of San Francisco. A chic Euro vibe with sun shining in through large windows onto white walls and herringbone floors. Good architectural bones and great new architectural design. I really don’t care where the flat is. I’m moving in. J’adore.

Take a 1973 Eichler house in Palo Alto. A little tired but very proud. Introduce it to a young family who fell in love with it and wanted to breath new life into it in that minimal sort of way you should when confronted with a faded mid century gem. Enter San Francisco architectural firm yamamar  and the magic happens. Finally add interiors by Alison Garvey. It’s a happily ever after ending.

Light, bright, white

Those three words are synonymous with one style. Scandi style. I’m stalking a lovely light home in Skåne region of Sweden. The house is from the late 1800s, lovingly brought into the present. Simple and stylish. A pretty home set amongst pear trees behind white garden walls. What do I love most? It must be heaven to sit under pear blossom. Heaven. But when I tire of that there are always those amazing grey Douglas fir floors. More here.
