Rut Karadottir

Rut Karadottir is an interior designer based in Iceland who studied and spent some time working for an architecture firm in Italy before opening her own design studio in ’97. I love her work, a mix of modern and Scandinavian mixed with rustic elements. My favourite combination. 🙂

It’s the beginning of a long weekend for us Canadians (YAY!), and it’s been a loooong and busy week. I cannot wait for the weekend to begin – but first, I am leaving work a bit early to get a little tattoo (YAY!). It’s been a few years since I’ve been inked so when I heard my twin sister and co-worker wanted to go I figured I’d join in the fun. (I’ll share on my page when it’s healed a bit). Anyhoo, I thought you’d enjoy a couple gorgeous photos to end off the work week, care of the portfolio of photographer Edward Pond. Isn’t white beautiful?

Night and day

I’ll start this post by saying that I would happily move into Les Interieurs‘ studio in Newport Beach and blissfully live amongst the stock. I adore Pamela Makin’s work.  Remember this…

from this post? I didn’t think it could get any better. Well it has. New work from Les Interieurs. I think of it as night and day. Black, white and natural. Tribal, timber and art and artifact. It’s just perfect. The homes today are moody and black or atmospheric and naturally neutral… or both. Perfect.

And here’s why I want to most into Les Interieurs’ workspace and studio. Sigh.

Here we go again with yet another Swedish-inspired post. I find their interiors so casual, relaxing and soothing to the eye. The inspiring photos below are care of photographer Magdalena Björnsdotter. Simple photos that highlight the simple beauty of the mostly white spaces.

I love this house!

Main reasons why I love this location home from 1st Option (some spaces admittedly need some work like the living and dining rooms):
1. chandelier in hallway
2. b/w photography framed in white with white mats
3. ornate mirrors everywhere (so fab in the kitchen)
4. b/w photography featuring deer
5. all white dreamy kitchen
6. mercury glass (or tin?) pendants
7. massive kitchen island
8. gorgeous wallpapers
9. capiz shell chandelier
10. bathroom vanity (vintage cabinet with modern sinks and wall mounted faucets on tiled backsplash)
