A beautiful bathing house constructed of natural larch on the shore of the Weißensee in Carintha in south central Austria. One room with everything for a relaxing day by the lake. A large jetty leads to a bathing platform reaching out over the water. The breeze is warm, the water ripples. I’ll race you. Last one in is a rotten egg! Find out more here.

“This impeccably restored one-bedroom loft apartment with roof terrace is situated in the historic Ragged School, close to Borough Market. Set over two floors, the flat has all of the characteristics of a classic loft, including exposed brickwork, vaulted wooden ceilings and massive warehouse windows. Styled and furnished by the renowned photographer and stylist Zanna, it is in our opinion one of the most atmospheric apartments in central London.”

Rising from the fens of Cambridgeshire is a solid old barn converted to a minimalist home and work space. Old Victorian bricks add an industrial element while OSB (oriented strand board) defines spaces with the larger void and is used to create furniture. Perpendicular to the old barn is a small black clad guest house/studio. The stark, restricted exterior is warmed by an inner lining of OSB echoing the idea of straw bales. Minimalist rustic, bold, simple, adaptive. Old and new melting into farmyard. The old Ochre barn and its new Stealth barn by Carl Turner Architects.

Britt Crepain, Stefan Spaens and Joep Debie are the super creative architects that make up CSD Architecten, based in Antwerp, Belgium. I love all the funky details in each space – especially the steel, deep ledge windows of the slatted wood home.
When I stumbled upon the portfolio of interior designer Marie-Laure Helmkampf I instantly fell in love. Located in the South of France, Marie-Laure has designed some spectacular rustic homes that are so incredibly dreamy. Her neutral colour stories, natural fabrics and modern mixed with classic furnishings and fixtures is perfection. I could live in any of these spaces exactly as they are.
