An eclectic home by Maurice Gadson

A random mix of colours, fabrics, patterns and furnishings in this quirky Los Angeles home designed by Zenzi Gadson and Justin Maurice (of Maurice Gadson). That green vinyl material on the dining chairs is so unexpected and totally rad, and I love how they've taken a large open-concept area and carved our 4 individual spaces whilst maintaining a level of airiness.

The perfect canvas

Don't get me wrong. I love colour. You only have to look at my own home. But sometimes I'm stopped in my tracks by a stunning home that is all about white. Not sterile or cold white on white but white as a beautiful canvas on which to display your treasures. Summer vibes

These spaces are so bright and summery. They remind me how much I love sun, warmth and greenery. I wish I could spend every waking moment of summer outdoors. Gawd I resent my office job this time of year. :(

I love this contemporary, warm, casual and funky home designed by Regan Baker. It is the perfect blend of modern and comfort. Lots of cool hangout spaces, and I LOVE the graffiti effect paint on the wall in the bedroom. FUN!!!

Playing favourites

We try not to play favourites here on Desire to Inspire but sometimes we just have to fess up. There will always be a special spot in our design hearts for those who are ahead of the pack, who repeatedly create homes where every room goes straight into our inspiration files, where we would move in in a heart beat. Jessica Helgerson and her team are such designers. Just look at this 1920's Portland home with its soft and muted colour palette and a modern, fresh fitout that respects the history of the house. Actually I'd be happy to just live in the kitchen a la Cinderella. Neely House by Jessica Helgerson Interior Design.
