Bohl Architects is a nationally recognized architecture and interior design firm specializing in custom residential design and historic preservation projects. They have some beautiful pictures on their website, some of which are of the loft apartment of Chip Bohl that was featured in the March 2005 issue of Metropolitan Home.

A big thanks

I’m posting this to let my “inlaws” (must use quotes because Jeff and I aren’t married) know how much I appreciate all their help over the past 2 weeks. They drove 14 (or so) hours from Prince Edward Island and have worked SOOOOOO hard to help Jeff and I with some renovations of our house. Flora did all the cooking (can’t tell you how happy that made me) and helped me renovate 2 of the bathrooms and Jim did tons of work in the basement (we’ve been dying for a finished basement) and a bunch of plumbing and electrical in the bathrooms. They’ll be leaving Wednesday and Jeff and I will be sad to see them go. (We don’t get to see them very often). So I thought I’d post some pics to show everyone all the hard work they’ve been doing and to say thanks to the best “inlaws” a girl could ask for.

And here’s my pet project – coming up with inexpensive artwork for the powder room. Thanks Jo for the great idea of printing 1’s and 2’s (in case you forget what you’re doing in the powder room, it’s like a reminder 😉 )

I received a lovely email from Sofia, a mixed media artist and accessories designer living in France. Her prints over french vintage book pages are beautiful and were featured this week on design*sponge.

Sofia is a busy girl – she is the Paris reporter for Girl’s Guide to City Life, has a website for her fine art paintings and has a very successful etsy shop. Here are some samples of you’ll find on etsy:

Yes, as I have mentionned before I love chairs. It’s about time for another chair post. Here are some random photos of chairs – I just love the creativity of the photo above.

Philippe Starck – Archimoon Lamp

Posted on Fri, 2 Mar 2007 by KiM

Philippe Starck created the Archimoon lamp for Flos in the late 90’s and has developed several styles since. The shade is so classic yet the articulating arm is wonderful modern touch. It is beautiful when utilized in Starck’s interiors, as seen below.
