I am convinced that if I were ever to visit a castle, a home with details this exquisite that I would probably pass right out. This is truly incredible. Ballinlough Castle, County Westmeath, Ireland has been home to the Nugent family for over 400 years. The 17th century Georgian castle was sensitively refreshed by Todhunter Earle Interiors when the current occupants, a young family, took over the house. The bedrooms have been brightened with large scale wallpapers and fabrics, beds re-dressed and new bathrooms installed. The essence of the traditional Irish castle has been retained, whilst updating the house for modern living.

Now this is a cottage vibe I can get behind! Whimsical, a bit country but with some more modern touches, super casual and relaxed where no one cares if you forgot to take your shoes off. Bridlepath Berkshire holiday cottage designed by Turner Pocock.

Designer Jenny Dina Kirschner of JDK Interiors bought a 1,400 square foot studio loft in Brooklyn with 30-foot ceilings and renovated it top to bottom, creating a wonderfully bright and very much open space for her and her family (result was 2,000 sq feet with an 1,100 square foot rooftop terrace). Now this is loft living at its finest. I am in love with every detail of this Georgian townhouse designed by London-based Barlow & Barlow. A bunch of fun colours (as they do), tons of great built-in storage in almost every room, a to die for outdoor courtyard, a cool velvet wrapped cinema room in the basement (I need this in my next home), so bold and liveable and such great energy.

It can be tough when starting with a builder-grade, white box of nothingness and wanting the result to be cozy and inviting. Marissa Bero managed to do just that in this Manhattan apartment, even with keeping the main living space white. Built-in bookcases create a much more homey feel in the living room area and the plush rug, lounge-y sectional and puppies really add to the chill vibe 🙂 Subtle patterned wallpaper in the bedrooms help add texture but maintain brightness.
