Viviano Viviano is a mother-son (Catherine and Michael) interior design and architecture firm based in Houston, Texas, and I love what they do. We create modern spaces imbued with warmth and comfort. Our projects vary in tone and personality – indeed, each is a reflection of the respective client’s lifestyle and interests – but we aim for a quiet elegance across all our work. We curate a studious mix of vintage, antique and contemporary pieces meant to evoke a sense of timelessness and ease.

This stately, elegant home in Old Westbury, New York, was designed by Michelle Gerson who played up the elegance of the architecture and went balls to the wall with it. It is modern, sophisticated and imbued with a glamorous WOW factor room by room. (Photos: Douglas Friedman & Howard W. Christian)

A modern, sculptural home in Texas

I really love the bright, neutral, modern vibes happening in this Texas home designed by Amanda Brooke. The entertainment feature wall is a brilliant design choice, with built-in lighting and storage, and the brass accents in the kitchen with matching marble is gorgeous. (Photos: Jack Thompson)

A Venetian castle in France

Today I am taking you to the Sommières region of France where this gorgeous 20 room, 8 bedroom and 8 bathroom castle on over 7 acres is for sale (by Christie’s). Splendid Venetian, neo-Gothic and Renaissance style castle entirely restored by a decorator of approximately 800m2 plus 250m2 of fitted out annexes, near AUBAIS in the Gard. Beautiful reception rooms, each room has its private bathroom. Located between Nîmes and Montpellier, in a 3HA park with olive grove, fountains, ponds, beautiful French garden, swimming pool, large workshop, cellar and chapel. Lots of charm. The castle is listed as a historical monument. The renovation is carried out with great care by craftsmen and artists. (Woodwork, floor tiles, paintings, etc.). The castle is sold fully furnished. You will be conquered by the charm and the authentic atmosphere.

This 1800s ranch home on South Carolina’s Sullivan’s Island was transformed into a funky surf shack by Cortney Bishop. The outside is stunning, and then when you enter it’s all kinds of fun with lots of mushroom board walls and ceilings, black and white checkered marble floors, tropical wallpaper and whimsical artwork.
