A weekend getaway to envy: This vacation home in Utah represented a gathering place, a “family camp” where the entire clan could congregate for extended holidays. We partnered with Bob White of Forest Studio and Midway Construction to create a welcoming camp compound to serve the family year-round, from fly fishing in summer to skiing in winter. The kids rooms are lined with beds for inevitable bedtime storytelling and the basement game room is the perfect place to put up your feet after a day in the great outdoors. The departure from a predictable western, reclaimed vibe in favor of a fresh take on mountain style using clean, painted surfaces lead to a home that feels very classic Americana. Designed by M. Alblanc is a floral design studio (and official distributor of the Frama brand in Spain) whose atelier is located in the heart of Poblenou, a neighborhood of Barcelona with an industrial history that currently houses a large part of the city’s creative scene. The space was formerly a warehouse for batteries and light bulbs. The renovation was inspired by Catalan and Mediterranean farmhouses. I spotted this on Thisispaper and had to share this lovely space. (Photos from Thisispaper and alblanc website)

When I scan the latest photos posted on Instagram, I am thrilled when a new photo pops up on James Coviello‘s feed. His 1840’s Greek Revival getaway in Hudson Valley, NY is filled with incredible antiques (his passion) that are always impeccably styled. It feeds my need for traditional, imperfect, rough around the edges living – all with a little sparkle and shine and Maurice the adorable pup.

London/Milan based designer Nicolo Castellini Baldissera created a colourful cacophony in this Milan apartment. It has a wonderful European, travelled sensibility and all of the beautiful colours on the walls really add life and dimension. (Photos: Guido Taroni)

Because James F. Carter had left me quite smitten after posting his glorious home, I thought I would share a smattering of spaces from his portfolio that caught my eye. Each one as good if not better than the next.
