Jo shared the 17th century, 3,300 sq ft Milan palazzo of designer Vincenzo De Cotiis a few years ago and I recently stumbled upon it again and because it truly is one of the most exquisite homes I have ever seen I wanted to share it again. This is what taking the time to peel back years and years of layers can get you. And when you leave it raw and untreated, it is absolutely magical and something to be revered for years to come. Opening up and modernizing a 1940’s home

Sometimes tearing down walls and making spaces bigger and brighter is the way to go. This home is a perfect example, and it desperately needed this type of update, designed by Anne Carr Design. (Check out some before and after shots here). I’m in LOVE with the courtyard!

Sunday at a bar & bistro

Posted on Sun, 28 Feb 2021 by KiM

My husband’s birthday was last Sunday so we went out for dinner. It’s so strange how something we used to do at last once every week or two suddenly became the biggest treat. I spent $30 on 2 drinks and they were the BEST. DRINKS. EVER. Looking forward to the day it becomes normal again. Poodle Bar & Bistro in Fitzroy, Australia is a gorgeous spot to enjoy many drinks and take in the art-deco decor, designed by Bergman & Co.
Poodle Bar, a modern interpretation of chiaroscuro; placing the patron at the centre of their experience. The ground floor embedded in a romantic textural representation of the past whilst situating us delightfully in the present through the careful placement of contemporary art, wildflowers and greenery. The archways acting as a conduit to a different scene, likened to the experience of being in a gallery, eyes adjusting to the varying levels of light and shade as the rooms are traversed.

I have no idea how I have gone this long not knowing about the exquisitely artful, collected, refined spaces of Houston/LA based designer Garrett Hunter. And for those that also didn’t know, NOW YOU KNOW.

An elegant Tuscan villa

I lose my marbles over every project that Hubert Zandberg gets his paws on. And this one which is a bit more traditional than most of his work is glorious, and perfect in a Tuscan setting. Villa Medane – An exclusive Tuscan villa and estate located in the dramatic hilly countryside outside Siena, a second home for one of our returning clients. The design concept was to create a comfortable retreat that references the centuries old rich history of the area and at the same time incorporates these with a curated mix of both vintage and contemporary elements and found pieces, for contemporary living.
