Sunday at a tattoo studio

I have the itch again. No not THAT itch. The tattoo itch. I blame Instagram. There are too many talented tattoo artists sharing their work and making me want some more ink. And then I come across this modern, funky tattoo studio in Livorno, Italy designed by MODO architettura + design and it makes my itch even itchier.

A colourful modern apartment in Moscow

Ilya Guliants and Katya Alagich of Moscow-based design firm el Born studio created an exuberant and somewhat whimsical space for a young couple with 2 children. The kitchen/dining floor tile is gorgeous and with the dark teal cabinetry is such a eye-catching combination. Loving the graphic paint treatment on the living room wall, the unique dining room pendant and the bold wallpaper in the bedroom. Lots of fun all around!

A subtle kitchen transformation

Kiki, who lives in London, sent over some before and after photos of her kitchen renovation and I love the subtle yet effective transformation of the space. It started off white and ended in white, but a lighter countertop and a massive window really lighten up the space. This kitchen is the same shape as mine yet I think slightly longer, and what I would do to add a window like this! (I can’t – would mean breaking through brick, and then staring at my neighbour’s house and driveway 6 ft away).

The after pics below. I love how neutral it is. You can throw a Persian rug down, add a bright bowl on the counter and completely transform it.

Cottage style

I had to share another country home with you by Leanne Ford because lawd half mursey she does country so very VERY well. Rustic, chic and always a bit of an edge that you would expect from Leanne – throwing some black in there for drama and contrast.

A legit country farmhouse

This farmhouse in the country is so beautiful I just want to melt into each photo. Designed by the great Leanne Ford, it’s simple in all white and caramel colours – very much neutral and soothing.
