Russian Architect and designer Maria Marinina has created an oasis with this home, using an earthy, neutral colour palette and tons of textures. So serene and soothing, pared down and refined. No need for alot of stuff when you have so many textures to appreciate.

What a beautiful day! I wish I’d had more time in the house to take pictures because the light was incredible. I did manage to to rake one quick snap when I got back from my walk with Luther. He looks quite comfortable don’t you think?! This is the warmest room in the house and as you can see we don’t really get much of a look in on the sofa these days. In other news I’m expecting a rather exciting delivery later on tonight. I managed to persuade Becca @malmo_and_moss to sell me her old #modernrustic kitchen table and whilst she is revelling in the “bigger dick” version she now has (go and read her post it’s funny!) I’m really looking forward to installing the smaller but perfectly formed version in my house. There’s just one small problem. I already have a table in my dining area…good job I’m a vintage trader! I found out a mama doggy had babies in south jersey and knew I needed to give one a good home. To save one dog from ending up on the street, in bad hands or in a shelter made my heart happy. She has brought so much joy and happiness to our lives. . Quenching my thirst for industrial lofts with this location home beauty in London available via Shoot Factory. 2690 sq ft of open plan awesomeness. It’s no wonder the owner filled it with plants. Those windows and everything painted white makes for such a bright space. LOVE!

Cloud Nine by Henrietta Southam (part 2)

Hopefully you caught this post on Tuesday of a glimpse into an iconic apartment here in Ottawa recently transformed by designer Henrietta Southam. It featured the more public spaces and in this post I will share the bedroom and bathrooms. The bedroom is a unique and serene oasis and the creation of a headboard through some drywall cutouts is absolutely stunning. Also stunning are those french doors! In the bathrooms are something that can be found in likely every project of Henrietta’s and has become a signature of her style – floor to ceiling tile. Also worthy of noting how in the master bathroom, Henrietta added in tile strips in more elegant, expensive tile to add some glitz to the simpler main tile. A genius touch.
