Chicago-based interior designer Alessandra Branca is mixing things up in unconventional ways. Mostly traditional furnishings are paired with bold floral and striped patterns, and some fairly bright colours. Taking things up a notch by creating spaces that are approachable yet elegant.

I really love several design styles but modern is not typically one of them. South African interior designer John Jacob is bound to convert people like me with this black and white penthouse that is sleek, glamorous and super sexy. His attention to detail and use of bold artwork has really drawn me in.

From me: Semi-feral Frankie has recently discovered how comfy my Hana Waxman pillow I bought in Mexico (I had to cover it as it’s impossible to clean the cat fur off of it). And Milo also has great taste, laying on my blanket from Alteriors and some sheepskins.

I had to start at the back of this house where the kitchen is located because I am in loooove. My kitchen is about the size of this glorious marble-topped island, so to have all this space plus it fits a sofa and a dining table….*sigh*. I also really love the killer angled tile backsplash and one of my all-time favourite pendants lighting up the island (Lampe Gras). The rest of this location home in London is pretty sweet too.
