Keeping things simple, timeless, and comfortable yet super stylish with a wow factor. Toronto-based design firm Palmerston (with principal Kirsten Marshall) creates dreamy spaces from traditional to modern and always on point.

The gorgeous minimalist kitchen below is Ikea!!!

The exterior may be storybook style but the interiors are definitely a modern tale. Cotswold Style Residence by Connecticut architects Brooks & Falotico.

Next to the definition of classic decor is a photo of Alabama interior designer Andrew Brown giving a thumbs up. This home is so elegant and sophisticated yes manages to be understated and even a bit masculine. In creamy whites and dark wood tones, it is really beautiful and so well curated. (More of his projects can be found here and here).

For the nineteen years I’ve had my dogs (greyhounds) I have not allowed them on furniture because their nails would shred upholstery and bed comforters when they made their “nest”. We knew that Miss Harri Berri would sneak up onto my bed in my absence because I would find my bed pillows and comforter “rearranged” (as documented in a photo taken by my housemate and sent to you for a previous Pets on Furniture post). This is Tesla (my newly adopted greyhound girl, formerly known as “Fiat Experiment”) pictured on my leather sofa. After all these years, I gave in to this sweet new girl regarding the furniture…and she even sleeps with me now. ;o)

Here is one from me: Phoebe on my Victorian embroidered grandfather chair with Bernie sleeping on the cat tree (that I typically drag out of the room whenever I take photos LOL)

I was totally sold on this home just from the photo above (maybe because of the Weimaraner…or the pretty wallpaper…or that gorgeous divan), but in fact the entire thing is pretty fabulous. Light and airy, with a casually eclectic mix of old and new with a subtly beachy/boho vibe. Sunday eye candy via Nuevo Estilo. (Decor: Barbara Maldonado)
