A fresh take on a traditional look by Melbourne-based interior designer Adelaide Bragg. This weekender has been given new life with a kitchen and bathroom remodel while a master suite on the first floor provides an adults’ retreat within the retreat. A colour palette of blues, whites and neutrals are an extension of the ocean and golf course views.
A new barn-like extension to this Melbourne family home sees the new sit sympathetically with the old. Light and bright with a Scandi influence, the new spaces are made richer by the use of a statement blue. How cute is that little nook? I can see the kids jostling to claim ownership. I know I complain about having to trudge into the office on a weekend but honestly if I worked in the über stylish headquarters of Sydney interior designer Greg Natale I’d be complaining about having to go home, not having to come in. Glamorous to the max!
I wanted to share some more of Calla McNamara‘s work, more specifically her kitchens. Bright and light, whitest of white with marble and stainless steel. A beautiful balance of form and function.
Sometimes we get carried away with adding more and more design details to our rooms. Layering on the textures, adding more and more pieces of furniture, more and more bells and whistles, losing the essence of a space, concentrating on the accoutrements not the substance. Connecticut interior designer Calla McNamara‘s work is defined by neutral color palettes, minimalist architecture and natural materials. It is clean lined and considered, beautiful in its simplicity. A breath of fresh air.
