Concrete and wood, linen and leather with a palette of burnt caramel. Whether formal or family the rooms in this Vaucluse house by Sydney-based Lawless and Meyerson are delicious.

A surprise in the kitchen

Fabulous French Friday. Is there such a thing? Well there is today because I had to share this delicious Haussmannian apartment in Paris by Studio Razavi Architecture. The bones are great, those white walls and floors the perfect foil for the covetable furniture and art collection but there’s a surprise in the kitchen… after the jump.

Casa Cook Rhodes

Posted on Thu, 23 Jun 2016 by midcenturyjo

Is your week dragging on like mine? Even though the hump day has passed does it still feel like you are wading waist deep in molasses? If the answer is yes then it’s time for a virtual getaway to the Greek island of Rhodes, to the latest hip and happening, bohemian lifestyle, fun in the sun, über stylish holiday resort. Welcome to Casa Cook. After you’ve checked in and thrown your bags in your room I’ll meet you by the pool.

I can’t believe a whole month has flown by already but I knew it had when I saw an email from Matilda Duffercy, Senior and Social Editor of Inside Out magazine, in my inbox.

Our new July issue hits newsagents and digital outlets today! It’s packed full of inspiration for renovating and decorating your home. This month, we’ve included 50+ pages of interiors that offer so much. Our cover star is a house that showcases a match made in heaven: one family turned to a trusted friend – who also happens to be an interior designer – to update their home.

Just look at that bathroom! Interior design by Terri Shannon and Emma Hunting of Bloom Interior Design & Decoration. Styling by Heather Nette King. Photography by Armelle Habib.

This month’s best buys feature showcase clocks and fruit bowls. The clocks feature was actually styled by the winner of last year’s #searchforastylist competition, which we have just recently run again. Dani Butchart was the winning stylist, and Sam McAdam-Cooper was the photographer. Alicia Sciberras styled the fruit bowls shot and Craig Wall photographed it.

Speaking of styling challenges, July also features the shelf shot from The Stylists’ Challenge! We gathered an eclectic collection of beautiful props and called in six stylists, setting them the task of styling a set of shelves. The had no ideas of the props they would be working with and had to bring two personal items. I have included star stylist’s Megan Morton‘s shot, photographed by Craig Wall. Propping & production by Alicia Sciberras.

It’s a little chilly where we are, so I have included the delish shot of one of the treats from our entertaining feature – sweet as pie. This beauty is a strawberry rhubarb pie mm-mmmmm. Food styling by Kristen Wilson . Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper. Prop styling by Alicia Sciberras . Production by Mia Daminato.

And lastly I have included the perfect locker for your budding sports star. Lots of storage space and no-fuss choices that can withstand active kids. Styling by Vanessa Colyer Tay. Photography by Sam McAdam-Cooper.

Can’t wait to get my hands on my copy of the July issue but don’t fret if you aren’t in Australia. You can read along on  ZinioGoogle Play, the Apple Newsstand and Nook.

Light, bright, fun and fresh. It may not be big on space but it’s got everything I need including gorgeous sunshine steaming in and a cute dining nook. Forrest Ave. kitchen by Nashville-based Crowell + Co. Interiors.
