It seems we have lost our design hearts on the blog to all things French like these fabulous rooms by interior designer Olivier Gampel of Les Nouveaux Décorateurs. Le “sigh”.

The hidden kitchen

Posted on Wed, 20 Jan 2016 by midcenturyjo

Is it a minimalist’s dream kitchen or the lazy cook’s ultimate “shove the mess behind the door” daydream? Either way this ultra sleek, ultra chic Sydney kitchen is a standout for not standing out. The precision joinery is blowing my mind. The Hidden Kitchen by Minosa Design.

It’s that time again. Matilda Duffecy, Social and Senior Editor at Inside Out, has sent over a few teasers from the pages of February’s issue out tomorrow.

Our new February issue drops tomorrow and we love it! This edition is actually our expert issue, and we’re really excited to share our renovation dream team with our audience. We’ve invited some impressive experts to provide guidance on everything from sustainability, to joinery, to paint colour and more! Our cover home is that of star fashion designer Arabella Ramsay. It’s a rammed-earth house on the coast and it’s really unique – totally beautiful! Cover styling is by Julia Green and Noël Coughlan. Photography is by Armelle Habib.

Our very clever market editor Joseph Gardner has styled the ‘best buys: sculptural vases’ so elegantly. We’re loving the mid-century appeal of that sideboard, too! It was photographed by Craig Wall.

This month, our former style editor, Vanessa Colyer Tay, has targeted a feature towards “nail-free” decorating. Not only are the images stunning, but it’s also filled with tips for updating your home without leaving mark on the walls – perfect for renters! Sam McAdam-Cooper was the photographer for this shoot.

The Dream it. Design it. Do it. feature shares a mother/daughter duo’s renovation of a Melbourne house to sell. They’ve done such a fantastic job! Styling is by Marsha Golemac and photography by Brooke Holm.

Oh I have serious credenza and vase envy going on! Can’t wait to see more in this month’s issue out tomorrow. Don’t fret if you aren’t in Australia though. You can read along on  ZinioGoogle Play,  the Apple Newsstand and Nook.

Casa Helsinki

I’m still in virtual holiday mode. Still got my virtual bags packed, my virtual passport in hand and I’m ready for my next daydream stopover. After indulging in the jet-set luxury of Greece I’m settling into an intimate guesthouse in the historic district of Alberdi, in the city Córdoba in central Argentina. Simple, minimalist but humming with the stories of the travellers who pass through. Unplug. Relax. Casa Helsinki.
